I am just getting chickens for the first time...
some Gold Laced Wyandotte chicks.
The ChickenCam! Is up and running...
ChickenCam
These are the baby chicks that are now just about 1 week old
This is the coop i'm building for them

plywood-foam-plywood glue sandwiches

The base is treated 1/2" plywood with treated bracing and post lumber

These are the nesting boxes for inside the coop

The major portions cut out

The door for the chickens to get in and out

Test fitting of the pieces

See how the corners overlap

Overkill for a chicken coop, but it was on clearance and available
plus I figured if I am going to insulate the whole coop I may as well
have a better window than a piece of plexi

Test fit in the wall with frame

Roof "trusses"

A little trim and caulking to cover up the seams and add strength

Roof trusses screwed in

My wife Colleen helping paint the coop

Oooh it's coming together now.. plywood on the roof

This roofing seems to be a type of asphalt based material
It's not tin and it's not that plastic paneling either.
But I like that red roof :) It attaches with screws or nails with neoprene washers.

Just about done, a little trim to go and some
more painting to do.
Next up I need to build the run...
